Week 1: Discovering Your Inner Child
Engage in a guided body scan meditation to locate and connect with your inner child. Using large body tracing and creative materials like paints, markers, and crayons, you’ll visually map where your inner child resides and begin the process of identifying and welcoming this part of your Self. Somatic movement will further support this exploration.
Week 2: Releasing Negative Emotions
Create a mixed-media collage to embody and express your inner child’s essence while releasing stored negative sensations and emotions. Then, through somatic movement and creative play, you’ll deepen the connection to your inner child and work toward releasing what no longer serves you.
Week 3: Receiving Positive Emotions
Engage in a bilateral art exercise using large butterfly imagery and bilateral movements to embody healing and integrate positive emotions. This session is structured to foster awareness, promote balance, and invite a sense of calm and renewal.
Week 4: Embracing Full Expression
Celebrate your inner child with a canvas painting session. This final session focuses on self-expression, acceptance, and reclaiming your authentic self. You’ll reflect on your healing journey and create a meaningful art piece to honor your inner child.
This group, facilitated by Expressive Arts Therapist Connie Conway, is designed to nurture your inner child and strengthen your ability to process emotions, embrace joy, and feel grounded in your sense of self.
No prior art experience is necessary—just an open mind and heart!
