Abstract Expressions: Emotional Expression and Communication Support

A Youth Art Therapy Workshop

In this creative and empowering art therapy workshop, youth will explore the world of abstract art as a tool for understanding and expressing their emotions. Through guided art-making activities, participants will use colors, shapes, and textures to communicate feelings that may be hard to put into words.

This group focuses on building emotional awareness, enhancing self-expression, and improving communication skills in a safe, nonjudgmental environment.

Participants will engage in both individual and group art projects designed to foster connection, empathy, and a deeper understanding of their emotions and those of others.

By the end of the workshop, each participant will leave with a collection of abstract art pieces that serve as a visual diary of their emotional journey, along with practical tools for expressing themselves more effectively in everyday life.

This workshop is intended for youth ages 9-12 who want to explore their emotions creatively, improve communication skills, or find new ways to express themselves.

No prior art experience is needed—just come as you are!

All high quality art supplies included.

This workshop is facilitated by Board-Certified Art Therapist, Jaclyn Lenz.
