Meet Jody Greene

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Hi! My name is Jody.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have provided individual and group therapy in a variety of settings, from outpatient services to residential treatment, from group homes for foster children to alternative placements for adolescents placed through the Department of Juvenile Justice. In addition to my work with HeARTS for Hope Therapy, I work with children and adult survivors of sexual abuse and sexual assault.

Most of my work experience has focused on treating trauma / PTSD and accompanied symptoms. I am certified in TF-CBT and EMDR, as well as Motivational Interviewing. I am also trained in EMDR Sandtray Therapy as well as Accelerated Resolution Therapy. I enjoy using Expressive Art Therapies and other creative means to enhance these treatment models.

When impacted by trauma, we often find ourselves living a life that doesn’t feel like our own. We have thoughts, feelings and behaviors we don’t understand or feel like are not supportive of our health and well-being.

Therapy can be a helpful way to start to understand these thoughts, feelings and behaviors and where they originated from. By exploring and processing through past experiences, we develop a better sense of ourselves and can start to make decisions that support our goals, our well-being, and our relationship with our Self and others.

By engaging in the therapeutic process, you have the opportunity to create the life you want or feel like you were meant to have.

As your therapist, or your child’s therapist, I see my role as the supporter, the cheerleader, the navigator, the gentle-nudger, and the compassionate listener…And the one who will remind you of the importance of fun and laughter!

More about Me…

Born and raised in The Netherlands, I first “stumbled upon” Social Work at the University of Rotterdam in The Netherlands. Once I had been introduced to this helping field, I knew immediately that it was my calling. I hold a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Social Work, with an additional focus on child abuse as well as addiction. I am also a Licensed Addictions Counselor.

In my spare time, my outgoing Self enjoys spending time with family and friends, dancing, running, working out and engaging in deep conversation. My solitary Self enjoys reading, journaling, meditation, yoga, travel and nature.

If you feel like I am good fit for you or your child, please don't hesitate to reach out.

I am here, when you are ready.

I am currently accepting new clients for in-person (or telehealth) sessions on Fridays!
