Beauty in the Broken: Kintsugi Workshop

  • HeARTS for Hope Therapy 15 Wellington Avenue Greenville, SC, 29609 United States (map)

Kintsugi is a Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics using gold that serves as a metaphor to highlight the beauty that exists within imperfections.

In this hands-on workshop, you will learn the art of kintsugi and have an opportunity to transform the imperfect — what appears broken and damaged — into a beautiful work of art.

This expressive arts workshop will encourage self-reflection through a guided meditation and journaling prompts.

You’ll receive beginner-level instruction for the art of kintsugi, as well as a mini-porcelain bowl to practice on. If you choose, you may also work on a larger ceramic piece.

While the ceramics and gold lacquer materials will be provided, you’re welcome to bring your own mug or pottery if you’d like.

This workshop will close with community connection for anyone willing to step into vulnerability and share their insights and creative expressions.

No prior experience necessary.

All supplies provided!
